Jambo Mara is inside the reserve, eleven kilometres in from Sekenani — the Mara's main gate. It sits between two streams that are meaningful water sources for this part of the park, which means game moves through the immediate area rather than only out on the plains.
That water is the reason to choose it over otherwise similar mid-range lodges. Animals come to drink; you do not have to go and find them first thing.
